Today we have published the minutes from the NGNuk Executive meeting of the 26th of October. During this month AboveNet joined as a Participating member.
The work streams initiated over the past months continue to gather momentum with initial outputs expected prior to Christmas. In support of this target industry assistance has been positive and continues to grow.
Working alongside NICC, NGNuk is committed to maintaining alignment with all relevant standards work both nationally and internationally. This is important to avoid duplication of work and to make progress as rapidly as possible. To support this objective, NGNuk has commissioned an independent standards consultant to provide a report on the applicability of the relevant standards.
As you can see our new Website is now live. The public site has been updated to provide a better understanding of the role of NGNuk and of general progress. In addition the site now also includes a "Members Only" area
NGNuk activity is now accelerating, though clearly in the initial stages this has been slower than I would have liked. Our progress is now supported by a growing membership and increasing support from members for the work programme. It is imperative therefore, that Members remain active in helping direct the activity of the work streams and in making sure these meet their objectives as this is an industry forum driven by member activity.
We have set up a plenary session open to all Members on the 14th December. The objective of this meeting is to review progress to date, obtain feedback from Members regarding how this matches their expectations and solicit views on where and how progress should be focused going forward and where effort may need to be redirected. Invitations will be sent to Members shortly.
